»Atlantic« is a typeface born from calligraphic letterings and drawing exercises and serves as a bridge between sixteenth-century letterforms and contemporary typography. Its graceful oscillation captures the essence of an elegant, highly contrasted serif face, while simultaneously embracing the sharp edges inspired by the heart-shaped forms of a Cuban chain.
The distinctive feature of »Atlantic« lies in its bend at the midpoint. The upper part leans left, while the lower part adopts a subtle right slant, defying categorization as either true italic or back slanted. This daring departure from conventional rules introduces an exceptional aesthetic, where each character exudes a sense of fluid motion and visual intrigue.
